The Neptune Theatre was the vision of brother and sisters – Dr. Earl Roy Fried, Bertha Foote and Nettie Fries and has remained under the ownership of their descendants. The Neptune Theatre closed as a single-screen movie house in January 2011 and is now operated by Seattle Theatre Group (STG), the non-profit operators of the historic Paramount and Moore Theatres.
